I caught this guy hiding food for harder times. As squirrels are really good at planting trees, a friend suggested once jokingly that eating these seeds/nuts must be bad for long-term memory, otherwise the success rate for finding these food places in times of need would be much higher and squirrels wouldn’t be such good tree dispersers. To ensure at least its short-term success, this squirrel took care that none of his fellows was watching before putting another food item into the ground.
